Smaller size bar that has been in the same place since the '30's

It's a dive bar but it's a great place to find your native gf if shes run off gally vanting around town

A real bar... Having beers with the locals and playing pull tabs..

One of the best. Live experience with the native people. Better to come with a gun and a bottle of Fireball. You don't have to call the police if you have a problem, they are in front of the bar anyway.

Drunks hanging outside even sleeping on the sidewalk.really guys clean your act up and fly straight

Crowded small bar with minimal seating & too much indoor lighting. Attracts stinky/smelly rude loud-mouthed drunk panhandling natives.

Visited Fairbanks for a week and visited Mecca each day. Atmosphere reminds me of home lol. Kelly and Naomi are awesome!

A scary (not easily scared) looking dude out front espousing the fact that he was from Barrow to anyone who would listen. Did not go in.

Alaska's very own Mos Eisley Cantina. A minute after walking in, I was engaged in conversation by a younger local man who was nice enough. Couldnt understand much of what he was saying as it appeared he was deep in the beer count, but he was cordial as was I until I had finished my beer and left. Didn't talk to anyone else but definitely not "Cheers"

within seconds of arriving you get a very hostile vibe, also within seconds people asking for smokes or you to buy them booze... asked the bar down the street before i went if mecha was a fun bar he told me its a go in get 1 shot than get out type of bar, i agree.

Great place if you like having the dregs of society endlessly bumming cigarettes and drinks from you.the patrons are very clannish (unless they want something) and are usually very intoxicated and argumentative. NOT a place to take a date and highly recommended to be avoided by visitors (or self respecting locals, for that matter!) Just the throngs of drunk individuals hanging out and sometimes passed out in front of the establishment, the experience is bad even before you walk in the joint. With all the problems there, it's a wonder how they're allowed to maintain their liquor license!

So I read the reviews and decided I wanted to see some real Alaska. The reviews are ridiculous, this is an amazing dive bar to get a real feel of Fairbanks. The bartender, while tired after New Years, was really great and throws anyone out who is intoxicated, into a cab. He was a no nonsense kind of guy who when he heard the f-word dropped that was it. I'm a small girl and completely obviously NOT native to the area. I had a lot of fun and am hoping to go back when my mom comes back to watch my kiddos. Great atmosphere and a good time. Ignore the guys who are starving for a woman and be nice. It's as simple as anywhere you go when you are looking for a dive bar and real Fairbanks people. I loved it and I hate that the reviews are all negative. Want to go drink and chill at a dive bar, this is a great place to do so, and super cool because they have this mirrored ceiling. Hope anyone who goes there has a great time!

Stumbled into this bar accidentally on a short visit to fairbanks and was shown the kindness of the people in the northern Alaska interior. Kelly, the bartender was great, the people she introduced us to were genuine and kind. Love local, love character. This place is neat, oh and look up! Thanks kelly for being warm and welcoming and making such a fun experience!

Don’t go here unless you’re Native American and drunk.It’s got cheap booze but full of local natives who are drunk off their face and stare at you the whole time. The woman behind the bar is about the only good thing about this place.
